Shady Deck Renovation

SCOPE OF WORK:

To remove the existing handrailing’s, saving the tubular balusters, cutting the wood railing post flush with the floor framing, removing the existing decking boards to expose the existing floor joist system. Leave the original existing piers, footings, floor joist, rim joist, stair stringers, generally the substructure of the deck to remain in place. If a need to modify any of these components arises, we will assess and provide a request for supplement to this proposal for the cost of repair or replacement. We propose to detach and move to the adjoining deck area the existing hot tub (to be emptied by others). Replace all of the existing decking boards with 5/4 Cedar Tone decking lumber, fastened in place with coated deck screws. Provide and install 3x3x38″ black deck railing post, mounted via lag bolts in place of the existing post. Fabricate wood railing similar to the original using Cedar Tone lumber to consist of 2×4 top and bottom stringers with a 2×6 rail cap. The railing post will protrude above this railing cap. Reuse the existing tubular balusters. The railing sections will be mounted using black metal rail hanging hardware.
